Blood Incantation

'Absolute Elsewhere'

Blood Incantation has always been about cosmic chaos and existential dread, but with Absolute Elsewhere, they've basically thrown the death metal rulebook into a black hole. This album is less about headbanging and more about taking your brain on a psychedelic trip through the void. It's bold, weird, and kind of genius.

The album is split into two massive tracks—“The Stargate” and “The Message”—each broken into these mysterious little “tablets” that sound like they were ripped straight out of an ancient alien prophecy. From the first note, you know you're in for something different. Sure, the crushing riffs and wild drums are there, but they're surrounded by these gorgeous, spaced-out sections that feel like Pink Floyd decided to crash a Morbid Angel jam session.

The production is lush and cinematic, thanks to the fact they recorded this at Berlin's legendary Hansa Studios. Plus, having Thorsten Quaeschning from Tangerine Dream jump in? That's just chef's-kiss-level cool. The krautrock vibes seep in everywhere, blending with ambient synths and jazzy rhythms, creating this seamless flow between the heavy and the hypnotic.

“The Stargate: Tablet II” is where things really pop off—like, imagine polyrhythms so tight they could bend spacetime, mixed with these beautifully trippy guitar passages. Then there's “The Message: Tablet III,” which feels like the soundtrack to drifting through the void after humanity has completely imploded. It's haunting, meditative, and honestly kind of emotional.

What's wild about Absolute Elsewhere is that it's still undeniably Blood Incantation, but they've leveled up in every way. It's heavy and brutal, sure, but it's also introspective, strange, and utterly captivating. This isn't just another metal album—it's an interstellar mind-melt.

Verdict? If you're into death metal, prog, ambient, or just anything that feels like staring into the infinite abyss, you need to hear this. Blood Incantation didn't just make an album; they built a portal, and it's an absolute trip.
