Jevill Project is a France-based solo guitarist/instrumental composer. From what I've read he has been deeply involved in the music scene for over 15 years, participating in bands over the years and recording sessions. His musical influences range from rock, punk, and metal to hints of funk-rock and classical. However, his primary genre is instrumental metal which is on showcase here with the release of 'Concept', out since May 9th 2023.

Starting with “Intro,” the EP is off to a nice start with two menancing riffs playing off each other. The guitar tone has a real bite to it, dark and aggressive with good dynamism within the overall drum sound. I would have liked to have seen this intro expanded into a song as there's a lot of potential to be explored further within those riffs! Jevill Project keeps the momentum going with 'Tech'. From the get go you are given some real gritty riffs and rhythms blasting straight into your eardrums. After a drum interlude there is some nice eerie lead work before hitting into a fast punk like groove. Imagine smashing the ideas of Emmure and The Offspring together and you wouldn't be surprised when hearing 'Tech' or 'Miasmic Web'. Have a listen to the EP below ->

The EP ends on 'Coïncidences' which has some nice lead work and galloping riffs that should get the head banging and a nice ender to the EP. Overall, his music uniquely fuses the pure raw energy of melodic hardcore punk with the technical mastery found in metalcore/djent. Explore his recent work (plenty of EPs/singles) and don't forget to connect with him on social media! One to look out for the future.
